Ice Palace Follies

We meant to post these a week or so ago, but you know how life gets in the way sometimes.

In case you haven’t heard, the annual St. Paul Winter Carnival was enhanced this year by the NHL All-Star Game coming to town, so they went all out. Included in this year’s festivities is a huge Ice Palace made of 27,000(!) blocks of ice taken from Lake Phalen. It’s quite a sight.

A colleague of Gretchen’s was a volunteer at the skating rink at the Ice Palace and we went down to skate and take in the spectacle when he was there.
