The News We’ve Been Waiting For!

The day has finally come!! We received the following on Monday from Nathan:

Greetings Everyone,
Well the time has finally arrived, it is time to leave Iraq and get back to life how I want it to be, peaceful and at home. It has been a long deployment, but at the same time the months have passed very quickly. We will be going back to Ft. Dix first for a few days to take care of the business of out processing then returning home. We are all so excited as we should even be home for Thanksgiving. There is so much to be thankful for. I just wanted to thank all of you for your constant support and prayers throughout this deployment thanks so much. See you all very soon.
Pray for Peace,
Nathan R. Green

Their unit is expected to be back home between Nov. 17 and Nov. 22. I’ll post more details about their homecoming as I get them.

In other family news, Quinn has apparently decided to take some big strides this week. I’ve been in Milwaukee since Monday and Gretchen reports he has not only climbed his first stair, but also did his first baby sign (for milk). In addition, he has discovered the kitchen cupboards and likes to open and close them. I guess I’ll have some projects around the house this weekend ;-)

As for me, I got a chance to spend an evening with cousin Joel, Nancy and Amelia here in the Milwauke area. As Amelia was only 6 months when I met her, it was something to be thrown into the world of a 2 1/2 year old. She’s quite the little character and we’re sure her and Quinn will hit it off when we’re home for Thanksgiving.

I am so happy & thankful that Nathan & the rest of his unit are finally headed home. What a wonderful Thanksgiving it will be at the Green house! Once again we know that prayer works!!

We’re looking forward to Thanksgiving at the Boerger household also & can’t wait to see Quinn (& his mom & dad) again as well as Uncle Tim & Laura. This grandma has taken a day of vacation the day before Thanksgiving so we have some extra time.

See everyone soon, Love, Grandma B.
