Hawkes Bay, Pt. 3

Posted by wayne on Sep 25, 2006 in Kiwi |

The Lonely Planet guidebook for New Zealand describes a place that probably draws all kinds of Clark Griswold wannabes. Like me, for instance.

The chance to have your picture taken next to a sign for the longest place name in the world is the kind of thing I get all geeky about. Thankfully, Gretchen humors me and Quinn is too young to be embarrased by my road trip detours. I will say that it was a very beautiful drive though quite windy at times.

All in all, we had a great time in Hawkes Bay and would definitely like to get back if time allows. We’ll leave you today with a few last pictures of Quinn (because we all know what you like) and our cottage.

I like the neat sign of the town with the long name. Im sure you are not the only one that has gone out of his way to see it. How about the town with the shortest name ; Lynd? Quinn is just adorable in his yellow slicker and what is the driving age in NZ any way? I think hes too young.
