Happy Birthday Quinn

Posted by gretchen on Jan 19, 2007 in Family, Quinn |

We have had such an amazing six weeks of vacation with our families it is tough to know where to start with the stories and pictures. So, while we are figuring that out, we will tell you a little bit about Quinn’s birthday.

He had a wonderful 2nd birthday party. Grandma Ardy and Grandma Ruthie were in the car with him the day before (driving to Wellington from Rotorua) and were telling him about birthday cake, ice cream & presents and what a great party he is going to have the next day. You could see the anticipation and excitement in his eyes before he went to bed that night. Well, when he woke up that morning he didn’t forget about the party. He woke up and said..”party, cake, ice cream,” and kept repeating it throughout the morning. We had him take a morning nap, and Ed and I ran off to the grocery store to buy party supplies etc. We came home with a wonderful cake, balloons, groovy sunglasses, and of course, ice cream.

When Quinn woke up he was so excited to see the place decorated with balloons and his big birthday cake sitting on the table. He went right over to the cake and started picking off the little dotted candies that layered the sides. We all decided that he should open presents and then have cake and icecream afterwards. So, he opened A LOT of presents from everyone…wow…and thank you!!! He loves them.

Here are some photos to share with you of the party. We wish you all could have been here to party with Quinn on his golden birthday! He still talks about his party, and yesterday he was singing “Happy Birthday” to himself for a good part of the morning.

Love, Gretchen

It looks like it was a really fun golden birthday. The cake looks yummy! Wish we could have been there to share it with our big boy. We were thinking of you all – and we did send Quinn’s Easy Mac – hope you got it. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. We miss you all a lot.

Hi Quinn!! We love your birthday pictures! Especially the groovy sunglasses you got to wear that day! We hope you had tons of fun on your golden birthday. Maybe we can celebrate with you again when you come home. Until then we’ll think if you when we read our “Machines That Work” book – especially when we flip to the pages with “farmer tractors”. Maybe when we see you next you can teach Taite more about John Deere’s. We love you!
