Announcement!

Today is June 1 here in NZ. We’ll be out of touch for a few days as we are going out to the mountains this weekend. Monday is a holiday here (Queen’s Birthday, even though it’s not really) so it’s a three day weekend.

Two things of interest however before we go. Biggest of all, and some of you already know this, we are officially returning to Minnesota in July, probably on the 2nd. Oracle management in Australia made an offer for us to go to Sydney until the end of the year, but we just felt like it will be in our best interest for us to return home. In particular, we want Quinn to be around family more. I think there are also some great opportunities for me at Oracle US that I can get tucked into. And Gretchen has a renewed drive to get involved in some volunteer and church activities, not to mention enjoying a Minnesota summer with Quinn. We’ll obviously post more as we get closer to departure and I’m sure it’ll be here before we know it. Amazing to think that it has been 11 months already.

The other item of interest is a small site widget that I added that I hope you will find useful. In the right column, you’ll notice a place to enter your email. Doing so will add you to a simple list that will notify you via email when we have new stuff here. We know some of you check out our site almost daily (and you still can), but now you can know that you’ll get an email on any day that we post something new.
