Donuts With Dad
For those that don’t know, Quinn started pre-school a couple weeks ago. He goes to the Wooddale Preschool, which is at our church, and he’s really enjoying it (plus it gives Mom two somewhat free afternoons each week). Today they had a special day called “Donuts With Dad” where the Dads could come in for a while. So I spent my lunch hour hanging with 3-year-olds (I wish I could do that every day, really
).
Each of the kids had made their Dad’s a fingerpaint and glitter necktie, which we all proudly wore. They had a little presentation from a “Mad Scientist” guy too. After I got home from work, I found out that they had the kids do a “My Dad” summary after we left. The paper was sent home in their school bags and here is what Quinn’s looks like:
While I’m happy to hear that I’m only 5 years old (does that mean I can go back to elementary school?), I’m not so sure about my favorite color or the fact that my job is now to “get shovels”. Really not sure where those came from, but I guess we haven’t ever really talked about it. Gretchen and I are still laughing about it though, so it’s fun.
Oh, and today is Jill’s birthday, so Happy Birthday! (Quinn said she’s now 2 years old, so I guess she can join him at pre-school. I think they had a fun time today with Laura and Mom.)

Wayne, this is your mom & I can guarantee that you are no longer 5 years old – although those were some pretty good years as a whole. We just won’t mention how long ago it’s been!
It sounds like Quinn is having a great time at preschool & I’m sure this will be the first of many “school day memories.” We can’t wait to hear all about it soon.
