I gave Zane his first official bath this afternoon. He didn’t really like it. After he was all clean, I decided to take his picture…of course. (Thanks Jill for the little onesie and monkey hat and socks, and thanks Laura for the muslin wraps in the photos.)

Brooke was pretty excited to finally get to hold her baby brother and see him up close on the 21st of July instead of the day of his birth. She had a case of pink-eye that needed to be treated for 24 hours first.

Just a quick post here so that we can put up some more pictures of our beautiful little boy. Everyone is doing wonderful and we’ve had some visitors so far. Looking like we’ll bring him home tomorrow! (Thursday)

Basement Project Coming Along…

Here are a few photos of out basement project. Wayne took these photos last weekend when he was tiling. It looks even more finished now that all of the trim is on and the painting has begun. I will be sure to post those photos next. We are hoping to be done with all of the major things within the next week or so. Carpet gets installed next Friday. Woo hoo!! Can’t wait. The kids can’t wait to have a playroom of their own and have some of their toys back that have been stored away in the attic during this project.

Brookwood Picnic and Baptism

This past Sunday we went to our church picnic and baptism at Prior Lake. It was so much fun to see everyone and to watch so many people be baptized in the lake. Here are a few photos of the kids swimming afterward. It was perfect swimming weather and the kids had a blast!

Walt Disney World

This past January, 2010, we decided to take a family vacation to Walt Disney World. It was amazing. Quinn and Brooke were in heaven. While we were there, we celebrated Quinn’s 5th birthday. We all wore buttons that said, “I’m Celebrating!” Quinn wore a button saying,,” I’m Celebrating my Birthday.” I was amazed at how much attention he got from all of the characters. The Disney Characters would come up to him during the parade, and seek him out even if there were lots of other kids around. Quinn felt really special!!! (Well, he is!!!)

We stayed at a Disney Resort called The Contemporary. The monorail runs right through the hotel, so it was very easy to get to Magic Kingdom. We went to Magic Kingdom for the first full day, them to Animal Kingdom, and ended with Magic Kingdom for our third and final day.

One of our other memories of our vacation is that it was SO cold. It was around 35 to 40 degrees in the mornings and warmed up to about 50 degrees during the day. It was COLD!!! We didn’t let the cold weather slow us down, although it would have been more enjoyable if it had been a little warmer outside and we wouldn’t have needed our hats, coats and mittens.

Brooke and Quinn received an awesome gift from Grandpa Roger and Grandma Ardy in May, a playhouse!! They have enjoyed much of the summer so far playing in it. One of their favorite things to do in it is play drive through! Brooke likes to serve tea and ham through the window. Quinn likes to ride his bike down our big hill in the back and come around to the window to order from her.

Playhouse at the Farm

Grandpa Roger spent a lot of this winter and spring working on building an amazing playhouse for the grandkids and for him and Grandma Ardy to enjoy during the summer months. Here are some great photos of playhouse and the fun Brooke and Quinn had at the farm.
